2005 MARTS Business Meeting
The Year 2005 Mechanical Association Railcar Technical Services annual Business Meeting was called to order by President Pat Ameen at 9:30 AM September 20, 2005.
President Ameen thanked members for being present at the meeting and called on Gary Grifiths, Chairman of the nominating committee, for the report of the Nominating Committee.
Mr. Griffiths introduced the the members of the Committee and proceeded to the recommendations of this Committee. They were:
1. That the office of President be extended for a two year term and the organization By-Laws be amended to reflect this change.
2. That Mr. Patrick Ameen be nominated for a second term if the amendment recommended in point 1, above is approved by the membership.
3. That the following persons be nominated for Vice President Positions:
1st Vice President - Charles Dupin, Miner Enterprises
2nd Vice President Vice President - John Sigler, Norfolk Southern Corporation
3rd Vice President - Michael McDonald, Belt Railway of Chicago
Mr. Griffiths then asked if there were nominations from the floor and there being none asked for a motion of approval of the recommended slate of officers. there was a motion and second for the recommended slate of officers followed by a unanimous vote of approval from the membership present.
Mr. Ameen, president for the 2005 - 2006 term introduced the Secretary Treasurer, John Robertson who gave a short estimated attendance report and an outline of the MARTS financial position.
President Ameen adjourned the 2005 annual Business Meeting at 9:45 A.M.
