The MARTS Railcar Repair Committee Announces their search for the Railcar Shop Safety Innovation of the Year

Recognizing Advances in Safe Work Practices

All railcar repair shops, including railroad and private shops, are encouraged to submit their entries to

Railcar Repair Committee will recognize the top safety innovation for the year during the annual MARTS meeting being held in conjunction with the upcoming Rail Expo, September 9-11, 2018 in Nashville, TN. This is an opportunity for the repair industry to highlight their individual safety initiatives.

Shops are constantly judged on being accident free and accumulating no lost-time but little is done to recognize those tools, practices or procedures to achieve those results. This award is to recognize the repair shop that has the best safety innovation.

Each entry will be judged on its merits to advance the safe working environment. The judging will include –

•A new tool or process to eliminate or improve some safety aspect

•A new procedure that improves worker safety

All submissions should be provided by August 15, 2018

Railcar Repair Committee is a MARTS special committee that is open to representatives from all railcar repair shops. The goal of this committee is to provide a forum for topics and issues that directly impact railcar repair shops. It provides an open meeting place to share best practices and industry issues.
